NTA NEET UG Result 2024 Live: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the revised National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 results. The revised result is declared after considering the correct option of the physics questions. The Supreme Court dismissed the pleas seeking cancellation and a re-test of NEET that was marred by controversies this time. The NEET UG 2024 revised result link will be available at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/.
The all-India rank 1 was shared by 67 students this year. Of them, six were on the list due to being compensated with extra marks for time lost during the examination because of mistakes made by invigilators. As many as 44 topped because they got an answer to a physics question wrong and received grace marks for it. With the announcement of the revised result, the ranks of the candidates will be changed since the Supreme Court decided that there would be just one accurate answer and anyone responding with anything other than that would not receive marks for it. This means these 44 candidates would now have their scores revised to 715 out of 720 and the remaining 14 candidates — who scored 720 — and there are another 70 who have scored 716 marks out of 720. These 44 will now be ranked only after them.
The cut-off this year for the general and general-PH category candidates has increased from 720-137 last year to 720-164. The NTA determines the NEET UG percentile on the basis of the highest marks scored in the all-India common merit list in NEET UG 2024. The percentile will also be altered. This year, as many as 24,06,079 students had registered for the medical entrance test and of them, 23,33,297 appeared.
